Six decades of family-run print manufacturing in Mumbai β from a calendar venture to an export print house serving the US, Europe and Africa.
Arun Art traces its origins to 1962, when our founder, Arun M. Shah, began his career as a first-generation entrepreneur marketing calendars for the printing houses of Sivakasi. Within a few years, the corporates and business houses of Mumbai knew him simply as the “Calendar Man” β a reputation built on an instinct for design and an uncompromising standard of quality.
In 1975, he established his own printing press at Sion (East), Mumbai, investing in the machinery that would become the foundation of today’s business. What began as a calendar venture grew into a full-service print manufacturer spanning calendars, children’s books, corporate stationery and packaging β serving clients across India and exporting to the United States, Europe and Africa.
Beyond his own business, Arun M. Shah has given decades of service to the wider printing fraternity. He served as the 47th President of the Bombay Master Printers’ Association (BMPA) in 2001–02, having earlier been its 1st Vice President and Chairman of its Taxation Committee, and is a founding-year member of the association’s StB (Share to Benefit) Forum. As President, he championed stronger member services β including shared testing facilities and an upgraded industry library β and, above all, greater unity across the trade.
Today the business he founded is run by the next generation β Keyur Shah leading production and technical operations, and Biren Shah leading finance and international business β carrying forward six decades of craftsmanship, reliability and continuity that few print manufacturers in India can claim.
